This is the outfit I wore to work today…to both of my jobs. Yikes!
I’m going to blame work when I say that I can’t, for the life of me, remember where this necklace came from. I want to say it’s from BCBG…but I can’t be sure. See, I’m really useful when I wake up early!
I must say though, I feel as though I’ve been having some really good hair days as of late. I don’t know if it’s because of the dry air…or I got lucky with the mousse…or what, but I’m seriously loving my curls these days. I even, GASP, think I prefer them to straight hair at the moment! I have a hair appointment tomorrow where I’m getting some more blonde put in, since it’s still summer which means I need to be as bright as possible (even though I’m wearing all black)…
Speaking of work, I wound up buying this killer handbag today ::
Carly Quilted Satchel from Guess by Marciano, $228
It was a bit more than I usually like to spend on any one purchase (even with my employee discount), but I justified it by telling myself that this is the time in my life to spoil myself.
My mom said something to me the other day about using this time (where you’re still youngish and without too many responsibilities) to invest in yourself. I’m fortunate enough to both live at home and have the financial support of my parents, which results in the fact that I tend to have some spending money. I usually like to blow my money on shoe sales and at thrift stores, but I decided that this would be a better (and smarter) purchase. I thought long and hard about what she said while I was steaming some clothes in the back, and basically came to the conclusion that a great leather handbag is a better investment than some knick-knacks at Target and thrift stores.
I mean, a classic piece is something you can have for years and years!
When I got home, my mom pretty much obsessed over this bag. Which basically justified my purchase that much more.
