june gloom – oh wait

I was so excited about my title for this post. I was going to write a whole thing about how the summer doesn’t hit us in California until September – and in the meantime we’re stuck with this weird/warm June gloom that just takes over.

But then – I realized – IT’S JULY. ALREADY.

So now instead you have to listen to me vent about what could have been and sit in bewilderment with me as I try and figure out where the hell this year has gone. Is it just me, or is 2014 FLYING? It feels like we were just taking down the Christmas tree and now the 4th of July is on Friday. FRIDAY. Insanity.

In other news, I picked up this dress during my mini spree at JCrew Factory a few weeks ago (for like $15 – YES, PLEASE) and I’m quite fond of it. Makes me feel like a twirly Princess. Paired with a jacket that I have a severe love/hate relationship with (I just don’t quite know if I like it!) and my favorite lace up heels.
