I’ve grown up going to industry events. That’s just what happens when your dad works in television.

Thursday night, however, was a first for me.
My dad and I attended the world premiere of J. Edgar, Leonardo DiCaprio’s new film. Even better: we had tickets for the hottest party in town…the premiere party after the film.
I couldn’t help it. I just had to take a picture of my sparkly shoes on the red carpet.

Me before the movie.

The movie itself was okay. The acting was great, but the old age make up that weaves its way through the duration of the film kind of threw me off. You’d think that with the millions of dollars they spent making it, they would’ve tried to make Armie Hammer’s make up look a little bit more realistic (and less like he were wearing some sort of mask).
That being said, though, I honestly think that both Leo and Armie will get nominated for Oscars.
After the movie, we walked across the street to go to the after party. After some DELICIOUS dinner (butternut squash ravioli!), we were able to mingle around and meet some of the celebs from the film.
 Clint Eastwood.
 Leonardo DiCaprio.
 Naomi Watts.
 Ed Westwick.
Armie Hammer.
Overall, Armie Hammer was the nicest. He asked my name and shook his hand, introducing himself to me. Ed Westwick was also really nice, and I got to hear his real life British accent (swoon!). Leo was the hardest to get to (as to be expected) and I couldn’t help but compliment Naomi’s dress (Stella McCartney) as it was easily the prettiest one in the room.
Naomi and Liev talking with Clint Eastwood.

Me outside of the Graumann’s, where the premiere was held.

The Roosevelt, where the after party was hosted.

Go see the movie, ya’ll!
Overall, the night was for sure one for the books. Seeing movies in the same room as the stars (we all applauded for them when their names came up in the credits), and being able to check out Jack Dawson and Chuck Bass in the flesh was almost too much to handle.
Here’s hoping my boyfriend becomes a famous actor soon, so we can go to these things on a regular basis.
