We spent Saturday night in Orange County, helping Kellen film a movie for his film class.
The story: prostitute gets picked up by an old school teacher she had. I was in charge of costumes and even got to try my hand at working a street corner in the early hours of the morning (in front of a camera of course…).
Lisa, Gabby and I were background hookers, which was actually nice, since we weren’t required to be in every shot. It was freezing, so we were able to bundle up when we weren’t doing anything when the poor girl playing the lead was wearing next to nothing for the duration of the night. We had to keep wrapping her in blankets in between shots.
It was nice being back on a Kellen set. I haven’t been on one of his sets since September, so it almost felt like a reunion of sorts.
Outfit:
- Dress, Marciano. There was an additional 50% off reduced prices sale, so I had to take advantage. I walked away with it for $20! More of a tunic thing, though. Can be worn as a shirt or as a dress, so it’s two in one!
- Coat, vintage. The fur collar kept my neck warm all night.
- Knee-highs, Target. They got the run in them as soon as I pulled them on.
- Heels, bought at Reflections in the TO mall for $10.
I like to think that this was more “fashion-y” than “hooker-y”, because I’d be bummed to think that my clothes actually would make for a good prostitute wardrobe…
How did you spend your Saturday?
