Shirt: Guess by Marciano ($24 w. Discount); Necklace: Ann Taylor Outlet ($12); Cutoffs: Thrifted // DIY ($5)
So I saw a killer pair of DIY tribal shorts on Tumblr and I was itching to try it myself. It’s not really a trend that I’m all about, but it seemed so simple and I had so many pairs of extra cutoffs lying around.
Before ::
Materials needed:
*Shorts
*Fabric Marker
*Ruler
*Tribal Print models (if needed)
Basically, all you really need to do to make a pair of these well is to USE A RULER and make sure your lines are straight. It looks best if it looks like a band that is running across the middle of your shorts. But to each her own. You can really do whatever you want. They’re your shorts, after all.
Also, I’ve seen some pairs that people bleached beforehand, so that their “canvas” was plain white.
I wanted to do this, but really, I’m extremely impatient and didn’t want to wait for them to bleach and then dry before I could start coloring.
I WANT TO COLOR NOW!
After ::
This is pretty much the easiest DIY I’ve done in a while. If you have forty-five minutes, it’s a fun project! I put on some Black Keys and just hummed along while I colored.
There are so many fun patterns you can find online, and if you have the patience, you can have a killer pair of these too!
