As previously mentioned a few posts ago, I was approached by CSN Stores to review one of their products on my blog!
I was super excited when I received the email and had a lot of fun browsing all of their websites for the item(s) I wanted to review. The single complaint I have about shopping on the CSN website was that they didn’t have the bags next to models, which made it really difficult to figure out how big the bag would turn out to be when it got to your house. I solved this problem by keeping a measuring tape next to me and using that to try and figure out how big they would be.
With the amount they gave me, I was able to buy this bag and put the rest towards another tote (which I’ll review later.)
The bag I selected is the
David King Studded Handbag
in Cafe Brown:
I knew I wanted a leather bag since I don’t have a lot of bags that are 100% leather. I was attracted to the David King bags due to their simplicity…and the fact that there were so many models to choose from! I wound up picking this one because I liked the studded details and I thought that it would be the right size that I was looking for. I felt that this purse was fashionably subtle…
When I got the bag, I was a bit disappointed in the size since I had been expecting it to be a little bit bigger (once again proving to myself that I didn’t like that the bags weren’t modeled next to an actual person on the website, making it hard for the shopper to get an idea of the actual size).
The leather itself is nice and soft (made in Colombia) and I’m really happy with the dark brown (cafe) color that I decided to get it in. I wish I could’ve seen what the whole bag would’ve looked like in the color online, but the color swatch was enough for me to get the idea. With each day I use it, I’ve noticed that the leather is looking more worn it which I thinks help me like the bag more…I wasn’t too crazy about it when it looked stiff and brand new.
When I picked this one out, I was worried that the bronze hoops that hold the strap to the bag would be un-sturdy, but I’m pleased to say that I was wrong and they have shown no sign of giving in to the weight of the bag. It zips easily and has a pocket on the inside for your cell phone and one a littler larger for other knick-knacks that you don’t want swimming around in your purse.
I’ve been using it everyday since it came in the mail and with each day that passes, I’m becoming more and more fond of it. It’s not the biggest bag in the world, but it does hold a lot more than I thought it would. Sometimes it can be hard to find things inside of it, but I really have no complaints when it comes to the size…a smaller bag may come in handy sometimes anyways. It’s not big enough for me to use as a school bag, but it certainly works for if I’m going out to the mall or a place similar to that.
Would I recommend it to a friend? Depends on the friend. If you’re a person who prefers simplicity, then yes. It goes with pretty much every color and every outfit and is a good purse to carry if you’re one of those people who uses one purse for a few months at a time (like myself.) If you’re fond of bags that make a statement, then this purse probably isn’t for you.
