And the DIY kick continues!
I’ve had the above (brown, satin, yucky) BCBG pumps for years. I picked them up at a thrift store one day and got them, since they were a mere three dollars and my pointed toe pump obsession had just taken off and I figured that I could eventually have a need for poop-brown pumps.
Of course, as with most things I convince myself that “one day” I can use, I never wore them. They have literally sat in my closet since the day I brought them home, and I finally had enough of just looking at them sitting there.
Soooooo today, a very June-gloomy sort of day, I dragged my boyfriend to Michael’s since we had nothing better to do. I knew I wanted a bright color, and since I just got a pair of fuchsia pumps from Aldo, I figured that turquoise would be the next best thing!
To do these glitter bombs, I used this tutorial and found it to be super easy. Another good thing to have? A bored boyfriend who winds up being ridiculously good at painting glitter on old shoes.
In total, these shoes cost me about $20 to make.
So, if you find yourself with nothing to do this summer, reinventing pieces of your closet could be a great (and cheap) way of spending your time!
