Hello Readers! How I’ve missed writing on here!
My time in South Africa has flown by and I’m currently battling the most intense jet lag that I have EVER experienced in my life.
For example, I’ve been up since 4am. WHAT THE HELL!?
Each time I travel, I’m constantly amazed by the impact the place has on me. France over the summer was my chance to experience life to the fullest, my opportunity to enjoy a “college” life that I don’t have at home. My time in South Africa was something else altogether. I’m so humbled by the experience…and I’m taking home with me SO many life lessons, with acceptance and forgiveness being the two main ones. South Africa is a new democratic country, still recovering from the horrible apartheid era that lasted for generations. Now, the new generations of people are forging a new South Africa, that isn’t based in hate and discrimination. It’s an incredible thing to see, and if an entire country is able to move past such terrible deeds, than I think a single person should be able to do it as well.
I’m counting down the days until I can go back.
I’ve decided to break up my pictures into two (picture heavy) posts, organized by the two major cities that we visited.
So without any further ramblings…
Part One: Cape Town
