Another year of Teen Vogue Fashion U has come and gone, and I must say that this year was quite possibly the best one yet!
Content wise, the panels were interesting and informative…and most of them left me wanting more. I signed up for the ones that I knew I would get the most out of (fashion bloggers, retailers, shoes, etc) instead of the ones with the biggest names. Yeah, it would’ve been cool to see Betsey Johnson…but I’m about to graduate college and to get a better insight on different careers that I’m interested in was way more helpful…
(Besides, I did see Betsey in the hallway!)
Here are some of the pictures I snapped while I was at the event this year:
At the H&M shopping event on 5th avenue. The place was a MADHOUSE.
Jenna, an old friend from high school, and me.

Teen Vogue gave us free feather hair extensions! I’m obsessed!

Waiting for Michael Kors to speak.
He was amazing.
Phenomenal.
Hilarious.
And mocked Heidi Klum with a fake German accent.

Our swag bag, filled with amazing goodies.

The girls behind Into the Gloss, The Coveteur and Fashion Pirate. All of them were such extraordinary ladies with incredible advice.
I had some major shoe envy.
TOLD YOU I saw Betsey Johnson in the hallway!

Wore my Litas for the ENTIRE day in New York City. HARD CORE. Seriously. Watch out. My feet still kinda hurt.

A view that will NEVER get old.

Me in all my dorky glory. Reppin the red blazer Justine got me for my burffday.

Litas.
It really is the city that never sleeps.

Wasting time before our “graduation” from Fashion U. I like my eyebrows in the bottom picture (since the top doesn’t have any eyebrows, obviously)
My love for New York grows with each visit. I loved loved LOVED being able to fend for myself, walking from the bus station to the location of the event without any hiccups. I felt so old and accomplished. I loved being able to hang out with an old friend from high school, catching up over shopping and then over some DELISH burgers at my favorite place (Shake Shack). I loved the crazy taxi drivers and the man in Sephora who told me my shoes were “fierce”. I loved being able to do it on my own, silently taking in everything with my iPod plugged in and a good song to walk with.
I loved the weather, I loved the people, I loved the pretzel stands on every corner.
God.
I just LOVE New York.

Most of all, though, I loved that this weekend I came home with a new understanding of what it is I think I want to do with my life. Lately, I’ve felt as if I’ve been wandering…unsure of what I want to do after graduation in a year. After the last panel on Sunday (Fashion in the Digital Age), I feel like I have a new passion that I want to pursue and it makes me feel so hopeful and excited about what is to come.

So insanely inspiring…

I highly recommend this program to ANYONE who is even a little bit interested in fashion. It’s less about the clothing and more about the communal love that everyone has for the industry. It’s definitely it’s own world…but in my opinion, it’s the best world there is.

Teen Vogue, thank you SO much for this weekend! It was an incredible experience!
