Avoiding the heat at the Plaza Hotel.
My trip back east has almost reached it’s end and I’m feeling bittersweet about it. On one hand, I’m excited to go home: no humidity, friends, DAISY! On the other, I’m going to miss having the city at my fingertips. I’m planning on coming back here again soon…perhaps Christmas? I def. want my dad to be here though, since he knows the city like the back of his hand and he’s willing to run around Manhattan like a crazy person with me.
These pictures were from our first trip into the city. I was SO excited because I’ve never been able to share the city with a boyfriend before. I loved being able to stand in times square with Trevor’s arm around my waist. It all felt so romantic!
Our families went and saw “Promises, Promises!” starring Kristen Chenoweth and Sean Hayes. It was really good and I’d recommend it to anyone who needs an idea of what show to see when they’re exploring. I’m bummed I never made it to Topshop (devastated is more like it), but I figure I’ll save SoHo and NYU/Columbia for the next time I come to town.
Outfit:
- Dress, borrowed from Justine. I was so happy I wore a dress! It was morbidly humid this day and if I had worn anything else I probably would’ve been melting.
- Belt, vintage. Found in my Grandma’s house the day before this outing to NYC. My mom said she used to wear it when she was in High School.
- Hat, F21. I bought this in the HUGE (four stories) Forever 21 in Times Square. It was only $7!
- Sunglasses, F21. Bought for $1.50 at the Grove.
- Earrings, gift from Marianne.
- Sandals, Cathy Jean (not pictured). Bought on sale for $12 at Topanga Mall. I went back to get them in white too, but they weren’t as interesting to me.
I’ll keep posting pictures/outfits from the trip! I’m so upset that I didn’t wear everything I packed. You know how it is, we all pack WAY too much and then when you get where you’re going, the weather forces you to dress a certain way. Half the items in my suitcase were ignored for the majority of the vacation.
Next time, I’ve made a mental note to pack lighter. Especially since I went shopping while I was here!
