Today, I went to one of the local middle schools to help my friend Jillian out with some girls she is working with. I wrote a book with a few friends my senior year of High School and ever since I’ve been fortunate enough to talk to younger girls about the transition between 8th and 9th grades. We talked about going into High School and the fears or concerns that they might have had. I’ve found that girls are so much more open to talking about their concerns these days than I was when I was 13 and about to be a freshman. For more information on the book, click HERE, HERE or visit the website HERE.
And as for Jillian, I’m so jealous that she wasn’t a counselor when I was going through school, she was amazing with them! At least I get her as a friend though, that works for me.
- Top, Target. Thrifted at the local Goodwill, with the tags still on it. I love the ruffles on the front and it’s perfect because it hasn’t shrunk in the wash! Horray!
- Skirt, Old Navy. I love the two buttons. It’s like it’s a wanna-be pair of jeans, but it’s totally not. Bonus: it has pockets. I bought this skirt in two patterns, just because I loved the cut of it. Not to mention it’s a good length for my short-ness. I have a feeling I’ll be pulling it out a lot this summer.
- Shoes, Cathy Jean. I wrote/pictured them a few posts down. I LOVE THEM. Would heartily recommend them to anyone looking for a good pair of nude wedges for the summer.
- Assorted bangles and some friendship bracelets Miss. Gabby made for me on Mother’s Day.
After the middle school I took a short trip over to the local library where I picked up some books to read. I LOVE THE LIBRARY. It’s not even funny. I go in there to look and I walk out with ten books that are due in three weeks.
