This was the wall. The wall that started everything for me. I was obsessed with it in High School and still have a stack of polaroids of a teenaged Allie and my friends posing in front of it. It was the first time I actually realized just how beautiful walls can be – and it began this crazy love affair where I can’t pass an epic wall without taking a picture of it. (Seriously, I have friends send me pictures of cool walls that they find on their adventures.)
This specific wall is in Venice, California – right off the boardwalk filled with tourists and people selling handmade knick-knacks. Just past the boardwalk, you can find sand and the ocean – both of which were packed, considering it was a Monday in January. Venice Beach has been a go-to stop for us since I was a little girl, and with my sister’s best friend in town, we knew we had to share the experience with her, as well.
